Welcome to the new Pittsburgh Hobby Forums!
These areas are operated by PUGDOG's Rock & Bead Shop (PUGDOG's Hobby Shop / Squirrel Hill Hobbies), and concentrate mostly on the crafting aspects of hobbies, rather than the technical or prototypical operations.
Our emphasis is on the BUILDING and working with your hands, and being creative.
What is in the box, is only the beginning, not the "end point."
For model railroading, that means carrying supplies and "kit bashing" items, scale lumber, plastic and metal, scenic supplies, and similar items.
It also means being able to answer your questions on using and building layouts and modules, dioramas or kits, and holding workshops and events related to _building_ models.
We will gladly work with your club or group, and direct people to you for operational and prototypical information.
There are plenty of mail order places, and sites on-line and in magazines. Our goal is to provide as much "resource" material as we can LOCALLY in the Pittsburgh area. If there are items you need and use regularly, but can't find locally, let us know! We'll be adding in items starting this month (August 2005) and continuing on.
We have big plans for the coming months, years and beyond!
We've been in business in Squirrel Hill at the same location since the early 90's, and we are in our 3rd year of retail sales with the rocks, beads and hobby items. We are family run, and owner operated. We can do things the "big guys" can't; but more importantly, we can do it for you HERE in Pittsburgh!
